Day #4 Vallee Blanche with Evolution 2

At the base getting ready to ride the 2nd scariest tram in the world So one of my bucket list items has been to ski the Vallee Blance, one if not the most famous runs in the world and today was the day! To start this run you need to take the 2nd scariest cable car in the world up to the top of L'Alguille Du Midi at over 12,600 ft, it's really one heck of a ride and I was happy to be in the middle and see around me. Our guide today was suppose to be a guy named Clement from Evolution 2 Chamonix France , he was no where to be seen, Eric asked this rough looking guy if he was our guide and answered no, wait until 9am! To which I said great another old grumpy French guy, he have me a pretty dirty look. Initial Thoughts: Roxa R3S 130 Ski Boots

This season I have made a switch to Roxa Ski Boots , Roxa is an Italian Manufacturer that at one point was making boots for Raichle . My weapon of choice is the Roxa R3S 130 All Mountain Cabrio, an all mountain boot that I can race in. I was happy that I the wait and the weight was over! A beautiful looking boot Out of the box the first thing I noticed was how light these boots were, being a coach/instructor I am in my boots 4 days a week up to 8 hours a day, so being light is a good thing! at around 1600 grams they are the lightest boots I have ever owned. The upper and lower shells are made out of Grilamid a very light weight material that is said to be stable and have powerful energy transmission. Looking at the structure of the boot, its a 3 piece design, another plus for me, upper, lower and tongue, one of my struggles has been getting in and our my boots, a few years back I jumped off our deck and landed in a hole that one of the dogs...

Welcome to Leadville

Here I am typing from 10,200 ft with a slight headache in the living room of the Leadville Colorado Hostel, what am I doing here? in 2 weeks I will racing in the country's highest 100 miler the Leadville Trail 100 and I have this love hate relationship with Leadville, first and foremost I love the many friends I have made here, love the town, the highest in the US, love the daily training rides, love the hostel and hikers and bikers you meet here, but I hate the race! Well I don't really hate the race, 104 miles, 11,000 ft of climbing, I hate the pain I will be experiencing August 9th, having finished the race twice now, and proudly wear the World Famous Belt Buckle, I'm 2/4 and know what I'm in for. My 2010 Buckle and Hoodie After crashing out of the race in 2011 I decided I was done with it, have my buckle and don't need to come back! But here I sit, ughh! Last year I raced in Europe did a 4 day stage race thru Germany & Austria, 200 miles 30,000 ft ...
